My first contacts into South Australia
(VK5), very exciting stuff.
The Crafters Adelaide repeater (147.000) started drifting in at around 1500z or
2am local time. Eventually it became strong enough for me to get back into and
speak to some locals including VK5MM Rob, VK5ANP Ian and VK5THA Greg. Further on
into the morning I was able to work a number of other VK5 Repeaters including
ones near Barossa Valley, Port Lincoln (1019.3km), Port Pirrie and also Swan
Hill in VK3. Around 2000z conditions disappeared. Using the Duct Data it appeared the duct was still present even at Esperance W.A. A distance of
2304km.
